The skeleton key (also known as passkey ) is the master key type in which the jagged edge has been inserted down so that it unlocks many keys, most often locked. This term comes from the fact that the key has been reduced to important parts.

In a broader sense, the term can be used synonymously with the master key to refer to keys, keycards, or other devices capable of opening various keys.

The term frame lock is often incorrectly used for bitted keys that operate the lever tumbler lever.

Master key

A template key is a key that has been archived or truncated to create a master that can be used to unlock various uninterrupted keys each with different ward configurations. This can usually be done by removing most of the central lock, allowing it to pass through the ward without interruption, operating the lock. To counteract the creation of such forbidden keys, locksmiths can place wards not only in the center but outside too, making the creation of key frameworks more difficult.

Lock lever locking levers are used in locks with typically three or five levers and a set of wards that come in contact with the key bits only on the upper side is to push the lever to the correct height while the key-suppressed part should only pass uninterrupted to allow the key to spinning completely. The key master key lever system has the same lever height in all keys. Each door will have a different environment and can only be opened by a properly-deflected key or master key. The framework key has been removed the key is removed so that it opens all system doors. Some applications, such as buildings with multiple entrances, have many locks that are locked together; one key will open every door. The key-like system is different from the primary key system because no key has a key that can only unlock it.

Framework keys are often associated with attempts to beat keys for illicit purposes, to release handcuffs for example, and a standard key has been filed for that purpose. Skeleton or legit master keys are used in many modern contexts where key operations are required and the original key has been lost or unavailable. In the hotel without an electronic key, the wiring lock is used by the housekeeping service to enter the room.
