Histori

After World War II, there was a huge surge of soldiers returning to Canada with permanent disabilities, and no facilities were located in British Columbia to accommodate their needs. George Frederick Strong is a strong advocate for the construction of a rehabilitation center in BC after his daughter suffered a spinal cord injury. Dr. Strong joined the Western Division of the Paraplegic Association to realize his dream. The GF Rehabilitation Center opened in 1949, and has since grown in size and scope, treating patients from BC and Yukon.
