Forever Weird is a 2005 novel by Dean Koontz, and its sequel Odd Thomas . The plot lasted six months after the events of Odd Thomas .

After Odd Thomas discovered that his childhood friend Danny had been kidnapped and his stepfather was brutally murdered, he assumed that Danny's father, who had recently been released from prison, had kidnapped him. Because of this belief, Odd begins to investigate, and is led through a water tunnel and into a hotel left by his "psychic appeal", Odd's ability to track who, or what he visualizes.

Inside, Odd finds his friend tied up and tied to a bomb. Danny tells Odd that his father did not kidnap her. Instead, Danny recounts that, because of his loneliness from a crippling bone disease, he telephoned the sex-phone line and talked to a woman named Datura. Danny, being seduced by this woman, finally submitted Odd's "gift" information. Once this is listed in his mind, he kidnaps Danny to let Odd reveal himself to him.

Strange leaves Danny and found Datura in his room with two thugs, Cheval Robert and Cheval Andre. He orders Odd to show his ghosts. Oddly, Odd took him to the casino in the hotel where he had seen many ghosts and a poltergeist. Datura insulted the ghosts, and the angry poltergeist threw objects at them. At this point, Odd escapes from Datura, returns to Danny, and disarms the bomb. It was strange to get back to Datura's room and find a shotgun, which he used to kill Cheval Robert. Datura found it with "reverse psychic magnetism"; as they spoke, a mountain lion attacked him from behind. The furious Cheval Andre chased Odd through the hotel, before Odd killed Cheval Andre in the gutter.

Odd died in the sewer, and his ghosts visited three of his friends. He came back to life, however, in front of Blue Moon Cafe without knowing how he got there. At first he was disappointed in his survival, because his dear hope was to be reunited with his soul mate, Bronwen "Stormy" Llewellyn, in the afterlife. It was strange to accompany Porter's chief to the hotel, where they returned to take Danny from the dreadful place. Two months later, Odd makes plans to work at a high monastery in the mountains in an attempt to find peace.

Odd Thomas

Odd Thomas, the protagonist, has the ability to see the remaining deaths. He had to save his friend, Danny Jessup, from a crazy masochistic occultist who called himself Datura.

Danny Jessup

Danny is a childhood friend of Odd, Datura kidnaps him after he reveals to him about Odd's supernatural ability to see the surviving dead, on the phone line. Her bone disease, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, makes her susceptible to fractures.

Datura

The phone sex operator is obsessed with magic. He, and his crew, kidnaps Danny to draw Odd to him and master his supernatural abilities. Although not specifically indicated in the novel, Datura is the name of a poisonous bush genus that includes jimsonweed. It is related to the genus Brugmansia (which is a tree), and the brugmansia tree is described in this book.

Cheval Andre

Cheval Andre is Datura's bigger maid and who shows the lowest emotions. He is described by Odd as a "freight train" or "locomotive." Andre chases Odd into the flood control system after Odd allows the mountain lion to kill Datura. The two fought each other until Odd managed to slash Andre's stomach with a fishing knife. When Andre died, he wrestled with a knife from Odd's hand and was able to cut it in the chest. Andre then died, his clothes stuck in the water gate. Robert and Andre may be zombies, animated by Datura ti bon ange . They seem to have a hunger for meat. Also, they never talk and they disappear after being "killed".

Cheval Robert

Cheval Robert is smaller than Datura's waitress, but still strong enough. He shows much more emotion than Andre (who still has not much). When Odd met Datura for the first time, Andre stood beside him at the window and studied the storm. Instead, Robert chose to watch candles with intrigue like a child. When Andre and Robert were assigned to keep the lanterns for Odd and Datura in the casino, Andre stood firm and silent, while Robert looked a little nervous. It was weird to meet Robert in the hotel suite while hiding from Datura. Robert soon realizes Odd, but chooses to ignore it, choosing to watch the storm in the first window. Robert then turned into Odd and walked toward him, never bothering to lift his revolver. At this time, Robert makes the only sound that sounds good from him or Andre. This is a low-pitched moan that sounds annoyed. Robert then started raising his revolver hand. It was strange to shoot Robert four times with a rifle, causing him to fall off the hotel balcony. Her body disappeared. Robert and Andre may be zombies, animated by the stolen Datura ti bon ange (Good Little Angel). They looked hungry for meat and they never spoke.
