? ydr? nas Savickas ( Lithuanian pronunciation: Ã, [?? i: 'drÃÆ' à »: n? ss?' v ?? tsk? s] ; born July 15, 1975) is a Lithuanian powerlifter and a strong professional person. He is considered one of the greatest strong men of all time, and is the only modern competitor to have won any major current competition. He stands 1.91 m (6 ft 3 in) high and competes at 155 kg (342 pounds) to 182 kg (401 pounds).

Careers
? ydr? SA Savickas was first attracted to the sport of strength after watching Lithuania's powerful Lithuanian contest on TV in 1989. Three years later, he participated in the same contest, beating a number of older and more experienced competitors. At the age of 17, Savicka started practicing in powerlifting. In his second powerlifting contest, he broke all Lithuanian records.
In 1998 ,? Ydr? Nas Savickas won his first Lithuanian Strongest Man contest. He will then win this contest 11 times. Savicka then competed in the World's Strongest Human Contest in 1998 and 2000, but failed to qualify for the finals twice. He won a silver medal in the world powerlifting championship in Japan for a total of 1020 kg, just 2.5 kg behind Brad Gillingham.
2001-2008
A contest in the Faroe Islands in 2001 handled Savicka a major setback, as he tore both patellar tendons during a wheel show of konan. Many believe that the level of injury means his career has ended. However, nine months later Savicka won the Lithuanian power lift championship, and some time later he also won the Lithuanian Strongest Men contest in 2002. Savicka will continue finishing 2nd in World's Strongest Man 2002 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He will finish in 2nd place 5 times more in 2003, 2004, 2011, 2013 and 2015 and first place in 2009, World's Strongest Man of 2010, World's Strongest Man 2012 and World 2014 Strongest Human Contest.
Savicka won the Arnold Strongman Classic six times in a row from 2003-2008. Savicka won the IFSA European Championship in 2005 that qualified him for the world championships. In September 2005, he broke three world records and won the IFSA Strongman World Championships in Quebec, Canada. Savicka won the IFSA World Team 2005 Championship with the European Team and won the IFSA World Championship for the second time in 2006 in ReykjavÃÆ'k, Iceland. In 2007, Savicka finished in 3rd place at the last IFSA World Championships behind runner-up Mikhail Koklyaev and Champion Vasyl Virastyuk in Geumsan, South Korea.
On 24 October 2005, Savicka represented Lithuania in a team competition with Vidas Blekaitis, Saulius Brusokas, and Vilius Petrauskas. The Lithuanian team's team placed fifth overall in the IFSA World's Strong World Contest in Ukraine.
Savickas won 5 of a total of 7 contests during the first season of 2008's Strongman Champions League, and won the overall title of 2008 58 points ahead of Ervin Katona's second-place finish.
2009-2010
Savickas is the champion of the World's Strongest Man 2009 and 2010. He also won Europe's Strongest Man in 2010 & amp; 2012. Savickas won Fortissimus in 2009 after finishing runner-up in 2008 behind Derek Poundstone. Savickas is the 3rd time World Log Lift Championships champion in 2008, 2009 and 2011 (no contests were held in 2010).
2011
In April 2011 Savickas created a new Guinness World Record by performing a 20-meter Farmer Walk in 7.55 seconds with 150Ã, kg (330Ã, lb) tools in each hand. The show is broadcast on the Guinness TV show in Europe.
Savickas won 5 Strongman Champions League events during the 2011/2012 season, in Finland in March 2011, Germany on 16 April 2011, SCL Semi-finals in Canada in October 2011, Latvia in November 2011 and SCL Finals in Sarajevo, Bosnia on 7 February 2012.
Savicka lost her WSM crown to American Brian Shaw at the 2011 World's Strongest Man contest at Wingate University, North Carolina, who was second to fourth.

Savicka won the 2012 Europe Strongest Man 2012 contest on June 23, 2012, ESM's second title after winning in 2010. Savicka also set a new world record in wooden lifts with lift power of 216 kg (476 pounds), this is the eighth consecutive year of adoption world records logs.
Savickas has won 8 Champions League Championships in the 2012 season and is the current overall leader. He won the 2012 SCL Iceman Challenge III in Finland in March, his third consecutive victory in the contest. Savickas also won the 2012 FIBO event in Germany in April, and the SCL Holland event in Zevenaar, The Netherlands on June 30, 2012.
During the SCL Holland show, Savicka set another world record at Log Lift with lift power of 217.5 kg (480 pounds). This is Savicka's 3rd log-lift record in 2012, and a world record of 9 consecutive logs.
Savickas has held a world record of log lift since 2005, and has set a world record more than any other strong competitor in history.
Savicka won the 2012 World Cup 2012 SCL World Cup in China on July 8, 2012, SCL's 4th win of the 2012 season, and the SCL Portugal event on 21 July in Oporto, Portugal.
Savickas won the SCL Finland event on August 11, 2012 and became the winner of the SCL Poland event on August 18 in a bond with Mikhail Koklyaev. Savickas also won the SCL Gibraltar event on September 2, 2012. This is his eight SCL victories for the 2012 season, and his 28th win in SCL career.
The toughest press release on record from Guinness World Records is 220 kg (490 lb) reached on September 30, 2012 by Savicka at World's Strongest Man Finals held at Commerce Casino, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Savickas regains the WSM crown by winning the 2012 World's Strongest Man 2012 contest in Los Angeles, California on October 1, 2012. This is Savicka's third WSM title, he is only the fifth contender in the history of WSM to win 3 or more WSM titles. Savickas also set a new world record in the final round with 220 kg (490 lbs) lift. Savickas and Jon Pall Sigmarson each placed in the top three WSMs with a record seven times.
Savicka won Saverkas Classic SCL 2012 premiered on October 6, 2012 in Vilnius, Lithuania. This is the ninth SCL Savory win for the 2012 SCL season.
Savicka won the World Log Lift Championship 2012 on October 7, 2012, held in the same place as Savickas Classic, this is the fourth consecutive Log Rank title.
Savicka won the SCL 2012 Final held at Fort-de-France, Martinique on November 18, 2012, SCL's tenth win of the season. Savicka won the overall title of SCL 2012, the second after winning in 2008.
2013
Savicka won its inaugural contest in 2013, the Strongman Champions League event held in Kalkar, Germany on 22 June 2013. Savickas also tried a new world record Lift Lift of 221 kg (487 lb), but hardly failed to cover overhead costs.
Savicka won the third Strongest Man title in Europe on 29 June 2013. He also set a new world record, Log Lift, with 221 kg (487 lb) lift.
Savicka took second place in the 2013 World's Strongest Man contest behind American Brian Shaw.
2014
In Giants Live Poland, Savickas set a new world record at Log Lift for 500Lbs or 227Ã, kg. In 2014 World's Strongest Man he managed to win his fourth title with only half the point difference over the second-placed HafthÃÆ'ór JÃÆ'úlÃÆ'us BjÃÆ'örnsson. Zydrunas set a new world record in a giant barbell squat event with a 340 kg squat for 15 repetitions.
