Christopher Lindsey (born July 26, 1983) is an American professional wrestler, better known by the name of his ring, Roderick Strong , currently signed to WWE, where he undertook territorial development, NXT. He is a stable member of the Indisputable Era (with Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly), with whom he is a third of the current NXT Tag Team Champions in his first reign with Fish and O'Reilly under the Freebird Rules.
Strong is best known for his 13 years with Ring of Honor where he is a one-time World Champion, World TV Champion twice, and a one-time World Team Tag Champion with Austin Aries. He is also the third winner of the Triple Crown Spirit.
He initially debuted as The Jester on the independent circuit of Floridian before quickly changing to his current name. He worked for IPW Hardcore and NWA Florida, before debuting for ROH in September 2003. In mid-2004, Strong joined Alex Shelley, Austin Aries, and Jack Evans, known as the Next Generation. As part of the Next Generation, Strong won the World Tag Championship ROH with Aries. Strong then turned on Aries, forming a new faction, No Victim Corps with Davey Richards and Rocky Romero. During this time, he also competed for the promotion of ROH's sister, FIP, and debuted for PWG. Strong has also toured Japan with Dragon Gate and Pro Wrestling Noah and had a brief stint in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2005.
At FIP, he has won the World Heavyweight Class Championship three times, and the Tag Team Championship once with Erick Stevens and once with Rich Swann. In PWG, he is a former World Champion once and World Tag Team Champion three times, having held titles with Davey Richards, Pac, and Jack Evans with each respective government. In addition, he is the only wrestler to win the Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team PWG annual Title Tournament with two different partners (PAC in 2007 and Evans in 2008).

In the fall of 1994, Lindsey's father, a former college wrestler, began training as a wrestler under Jim Neidhart. After Lindsey attended several training sessions and met Harry Smith, third generation wrestler, he decided to become a wrestler. Lindsey was trained by her father, Neidhart and a number of other wrestlers in Tampa, Florida and debuted in 2000 as The Jester on the independent circuit of Floridian for RWA.
Professional Wrestling Independent (2003)
Struggle wrestle his first match for the Independent Professional Wrestling campaign, competing in twenty Royal Battle soldiers. He was originally a third of the stable known as the "Risk Factor" with The Kamikaze Kid and Kid Lethal before he formed a tag team with brothers trainee and kayfabe, Sedrick Strong. The Strong Brothers defeated the Wrong Death (Naphtali and Dagon Briggs) for the IPW Team Tag Championship on June 28, 2002 at St. Petersburg, Florida. They held titles until September 20, when they lost to Naturally Marvelous (Scoot Andrews and Mike Sullivan) in a steel cage match in which Roderick suffered a concussion.
After Sedrick cost the Brothers Several games, Roderick turned his heel on February 8, 2003, betraying Sedrick and aligning himself with the Alliance of Defiance, a stable dominant heel.
NWA Florida (2003-2004)
After IPW closed in late 2003, Strong started working for NWA Florida, a promotion that has had a working relationship with IPW for two years. Strong beat David Babylon for the Florida Cruiser Championship Unified on July 19, 2003, in St. Petersburg. While Strong is the champion, the title was renamed to Florida Unified Junior Heavyweight Championship. He lost the title to Jerrelle Clark in a four-way match on 13 December 2003 at St. Petersburg. Clark vacated his title on January 10, 2004, after winning the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship, and Strong beat Mikey Batts for an empty title on Feb. 21 at New Alhambra Sports and Entertainment Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He lost the title to Sedrick Strong on April 29, 2004, in New Port Richey, Florida.
In addition to wrestling for NWA Florida, Strong served as head coach wrestling in the region.
Ring of Honor
Next Generation (2003-2006)
Strong joined the promotional ring of honor (ROH) based in Pennsylvania in September 2003. On May 22, 2004, at Generation Next he formed a stable known as the Next Generation with Alex Shelley, Austin Aries and Jack Evans. The Next Generation quickly dominated the list of SPIRITS, declaring themselves the future of wrestling. After defeating several others, they defeated CM Punk, Ace Steel, John Walters and Jimmy Jacobs (guided by Ricky Steamboat) on October 2 at The Midnight Express Reunion.
Strong began to emphasize the style of the ring with a stiff attack while acting as a next generation enforcement. In November 2004 he formed a regular tag team with Evans, and on December 26 he, Evans, and Aries threw Shelley out of the group when he refused to resign as leader. Strong and Evans continued the team throughout early 2005, but were unable to win the Team Tag ROH Championship. On September 24, 2005, Survival of the Fittest, Strong beat Samoa Joe, Jay Lethal, Next Generation teammate Austin Aries, and Colt Cabana to win the titular event, earning another shot at the ROH World Championship in the future.
On October 1st at Joe vs. Kobashi, Jade Chung's waitress aligns himself with Strong (and the rest of the Generation Next) after he defeats his client, Jimmy Rave. The following night, Strong beat James Gibson in his final game for the Ring of Honor before returning to World Wrestling Entertainment. After the game, Gibson gave a farewell speech in which he called Strong the "MVP" Ring of Honor.
Strong lost to World Champion ROH Bryan Danielson on October 29 in Woodbridge, Connecticut and on November 5 in Chicago, with the match lasting more than 45 minutes. On March 31 in Chicago, Strong faced Bryan Danielson for the third time for the World Championship ROH, with a 60 minute deadline, but Roderick appeared short with Danielson rolling Strong in the 56th minute for victory.
At Final Battle 2005 on December 17, 2005, Strong and Aries defeated Sal Rinauro and Tony Mamaluke to win the World Tag Championship ROH. They held the title until 16 September 2006, when they were defeated by The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli). In February 2007, Strong activated Aries to form a new faction with Davey Richards called No Remorse Corps.
The No Remorse Corps went on to quarrel with Aries' new faction, The Resilience. Rocky Romero joined the NRC, while Matt Cross and Erick Stevens joined The Resilience. Although the NRC dominated the feud for the most part, the end of the feud came with a strong defeat against Aries at Undeniable and Reckless Abandon in a Iron Man game for 30 minutes.
World Champion (2007-2011)
Strong then began to fight with Stevens over the FIP title. Strongly lost the title for Stevens in the 2007 Final Battle, but won it back in FIP Redefined. He continued to hold the belt in several matches with Stevens, and won the Fight Without Honor against Stevens in ROH Respect was Earned II by Stevens superplexing off the stairs through two tables. However, he lost his FIP title to Stevens at the FIP Hot Summer Nights 2008 in a Dog Collar game to end their hostilities. When Respecting Accepted II, Davey Richards enables Strong to join Sweet and Sour Inc. In an episode of ROH on HDNet, Strong was selected as a jury for the Tyler Black/Austin Aries game for the ROH World Title on February 13th. accepting a position as Black promises that, should he win the title, Strong will be awarded a championship match.
On May 22, 2010, Strong turned his heel and debuted Truth Martini as his new manager. On the following pay-per-view, Death Before Dishonor VIII, on June 19, Strong defeated Colt Cabana, Steve Corino, Shawn Daivari, Tyson Dux and Eddie Edwards in a gauntlet match, with help from Martini, to gain the right to challenge for the World Championships. SPIRIT. On September 11, 2010, at Glory By Honor IX, Strong defeated Tyler Black in an unqualified match to win the World Championship of SPIRIT for the first time. He then took a short leave of ROH to travel to Noah's Pro wrestling with World Television Champion ROH Eddie Edwards to participate in the Junior League Nippon Junior Heavyweight Tag League. On March 2, 2011, ROH announced that Strong has signed a new contract with the promotion. The Decade (2013-2014)
On April 1 at the Honor Takes Center Stage, Strong faces Richards once again in a rematch of their meeting at the Final Battle. This time, Richards defeats Strong after making him bow to Ankle Lock. The next night, on the second night of the iPPV, Strong lost again, this time to El Generico. After the match, Strong's Strong from House of Truth partner Michael Elgin attacked Generico until Colt Cabana managed to save. Christopher Daniels also came out, presumably to help fellow babyfaces Cabana and Generico, but turned his heels after hitting Generico with the Book of Truth and lashing Cabana with Angel's Wings, thus joining the House of Truth. On August 13th on the first TV recording of Ring of Honor Wrestling under the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, Strong received another shot on the world ROH title against Davey Richards but to no avail. On March 31, 2012, at Showdown in the Sun, Strong defeated Jay Lethal to win the World Television Championship ROH, in the process of becoming the second man to win the Triple Crown spree. On June 29, Strong lost the title for Adam Cole. After defeating former Stablemate Michael Elgin on December 16th at Final Battle 2012: Doomsday, Strong exit from House of Truth. On March 2, 2013 at the 11th Anniversary Show, Strong will end his feud with Elgin, beaten in two of three falling matches.
Throughout 2013, Strong won many singles matches and in mid-2013, started a friendly rivalry with Adam Cole with both men's trade victories. After the World Championship ROH emptied, Strong enters the tournament to determine the new champion as a face, defeating Matt Taven in the first round match on 3 August. On 17 August, Strong was knocked out of the tournament in the second round by Kevin Steen. On October 5, a highly challenged winner of the tournament and World Champion ROH, Adam Cole, in a No Disqualification match, Nothing Count, but will appear. By the end of 2013, Strong will dub the name "Mr. Ring of Honor" for his consistent work on the SPIRIT. On December 14, 2013 in Final Battle 2013, Roderick Strong will turn heels with BJ Whitmer and Jimmy Jacobs, by attacking Eddie Edwards, arguing that they are disgusted with people being celebrated when they get out of the SPIRIT, while the constant in the ROH will go away appreciated. This evil group is known as The Decade.
On January 4, 2014, Strong was defeated by A.J. who returned. Styles.
Throughout 2014, Strong was ousted from The Decade after a fight with Adam Page, Strong then fended off attacks from Page and Whitmer to set the match for the Final Battle, and as a result, became fan favorite once again. Strongly competed in his first match as a fan favorite on the November 8th episode of ROH Survival of the Fittest Night One, defeating Caprice Coleman. Adam's powerful unbeaten page in the 2014 Final Battle, and then B. J. Whitmer in a grudge match on ROH's 13th Anniversary Show to end his feud with The Decade.
Hosts and departure (2015-2016)
Strong will continue to perform on the lower cards for the first few months of 2015, beating Christopher Daniels in the Supercard of Honor IX. Along with the rest of the ROH list, Roderick Strong was involved with Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling collaborated on War of the Worlds event, held on 12 and 13 May; and Global Wars held on May 15 and 16. In the first World War, Strong won his match with NJPW Kushida wrestler, but lost his match in the second event for NJPW's mainstay Hiroshi Tanahashi, regarded as one of the top three New Japan stars. He appeared in both Global Wars shows; on the first night, he teamed up with Briscoes and War Machine (Hanson and Ray Rowe) to defeat the Bullet Club (A. J. Styles (later IWGP Heavyweight Champion), Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Young Bucks). On the second night, she lost to Shinsuke Nakamura, one of the top three stars in NJPW. After the ROH/NJPW show, Strong received high praise from wrestler journalist Dave Meltzer, reporting that both Tanahashi and Nakamura gave him "warm reviews".
Following the ROH/NJPW show, Strong directs his attention to the World Championship of SPIRIT. At Best in the World, Strong defeats Michael Elgin and Moose in a three-way match to become the number one competitor in the World Championships ROH. Strong received his title match at Death Before Dishonor XIII, challenging Jay Lethal (also Champion of World Television ROH), but to no avail as the match went to the limit-time limit of 60 minutes. After failing to win the title, Roderick Strong began his campaign against IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, the only one of the top three talents of NJPW (along with Hiroshi Tanahashi and Shinsuke Nakamura) that he has not played. Okada accepted the challenge, set two for the match at Field of Honor, where Okada won. Strong finally received a rematch with Lethal for the World Championship ROH on 21 August episode of Wrestling's SPH, but was defeated. Strong continued to be unsuccessful at the endevaours, as he lost the competition's number one match on All Star Extravaganza VII, defeated A. J. Styles in a four-way game (along with Adam Cole and Michael Elgin). Despite his recent misfortunes, Strong continues to be at odds with Jay Lethal, where he is announced as AJ Styles and ACH's partner in the elimination of "Champions vs. All-Stars" in Glory By Honor XIV against Lethal and the ROH World Tag Team Champion ( Matt Taven and Michael Bennett). Ahead of the match, Strong won the World Championship ROH Jay Lethal game on the first night of Glory By Honor XIV on October 23rd. Strong succeeded in the match, winning the title for the second time. Being a champion, Strong was placed in the Championship team with Lethal and the Kingdom against the new All-Stars team (after Styles and ACH suffered an injury the previous night), turning the six men into eight players. tag team match. Strong's team wins, with Strong and Lethal being the only two left in the game. After the match, Strong gets a keen stare with Styles and Lethal.
After being injured during the Survival of the Fittest tournament, Strong issues an open challenge for the upcoming Final Battle pay-per-view event, received by Bobby Fish, who had beaten him in a match on 12 September. On December 18th, the first night of the event, Strong defended his title against Fish. During the game Strong handed to Fish, but the referee did not see, and the match continued. Strong once heel turns after beating Fish with Sickness Pain to win. The next night, Strong established his heel turn by defeating ECW Stevie Richards.
Towards the year 2016, Roderick Strong continues to fight with Bobby Fish, where both are scheduled for a rematch for the Strong TV Championship at the 14th ROH Birthday event on February 26th. However, Strong lost in the World Television Championship ROH with Tomohiro Ishii from New Japan Pro Wrestling in ROH/NJPW also produced Honor Rising: Japan 2016 event at Korakuen Hall Tokyo. He then continues to be pinned by Ishii in a three-way match on ROH 14th Anniversary, which also involves Fish. Strong was later defeated May 8th by Dalton Castle who became the new number one contender for the TV title.
On June 22, 2016, ROH announced that Strong will be leaving the promotion after the June 25 television screening. June 24th at Best in the World '16 Roderick Strong lost to Mark Briscoe after a pair of fisherman's driver/brainbusters. The following day, June 25, his final day in the SPH, Strong was defeated again by Dalton Castle, who just lost the title of TV title against Bobby Fish at Best in the World. Although recorded in June it did not air until July 15th. On that day, he said that he would always be known as "Mr. ROH".

Roderick Strong made his Full Impact Pro (FIP) debut in 2004. On November 10, 2006, in Inverness, Florida, Strong beat Bryan Danielson in a career-prone title to win the FIP Heavyweight Championship, a heavyweight championship from the Floridian Pro Imposure Campaign Full. When he defended his title against Pac in Liverpool on March 3, the Heavyweight FIP ââchampionship was known as the FIP Heavyweight Championship World. On December 6, 2013, Strong and Rich Swann defeated The Bravado Brothers (Harlem and Lancelot) to win the FIP Tag Team Championship. The next day, in Violence is the Answer, they defend the title against Andrew Everett and Caleb Konley. On May 2, 2014, Strong and Swann lost the FIP Tag Team Championship to The Juicy Product. On February 20, 2015, Strong won the FIP World Heavyweight Championship for the third time. He lost the title to Rich Swann on April 18th.
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2005-2006, 2010 )
In his first major performance with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, Strong lost a special "Showcase Match" for Austin Aries at TNA Unbreakable pay-per-view on September 11, 2005. On September 22, it was announced that he had signed a contract with TNA, with AJ Style on the first episode TNA Impact! on Spike TV on October 1st. Strong continues to lose his next fight.
In 2006, he formed a stable in TNA with Austin Aries and Alex Shelley. In February 2006, he and Aries were both suspended for two months for arriving four hours late for TNA Against All Odds paid per view. He returned to the TNA in April 2006, but was released shortly thereafter.
On August 10, 2010, Strong returned to TNA, defeating local Jamil Patel in a dark game of trials.
Japan (2005-2013)
Strong has made several tours to Japan, starting in December 2005 with Dragon Gate.
Since 2009 he has worked for Pro Wrestling Noah, where, in July 2013, he and Slex entered the NTV G Cup Junior Heavyweight Tag League for the Heavyweight GHC Junior Group Tag Championship. However, the team only won two points and failed to advance in the tournament.
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (2005-2016)
Strong make Pro wrestle Guerrilla (PWG) debuted on February 12, 2005, losing to Ricky Reyes. On December 16th, Strong and Jack Evans beat 2 Skinny Black Guys (El Generico and Human Tornado) to become the number one contender in the World Tag Team Championship PWG. They challenged Super Dragon champions and Davey Richards on March 4, 2006, in a losing bid. Throughout 2006, Strong won many singles matches and made his Battle of Los Angeles tournament debut. He beat Rocky Romero in the opening and Dragon Kid in the quarter-finals before losing to Richards, the eventual winner, in the semi-finals. On November 17, Strong teamed up with Richards to defeat Super Dragon and B-Boy for the Tag World Championships PWG Team; however, Super Dragon and B-Boy regain their title the next day.
Strong will win the second Tag World Championships on Dinamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament, held for two nights in May 2007. Initially, Strong is scheduled for the team with Evans, but Evans can not show up. Strong is not working with British PAC wrestlers, defeating Richards and Super Dragon, Muscle Outlaw'z (Naruki Doi and Masato Yoshino) and Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark Briscoe), respectively, to win tournaments and titles. On July 26, they lost the title to Kevin Steen and El Generico. A month later, Strong entered the Battle of Los Angeles 2007, this time beating Austin Aries, Joey Ryan and Alex Shelley on the way to the final, where he was knocked out by CIMA in a match that also involved El Generico.
On February 24, 2008, Strong took part in a one-night tournament to determine the new PWG World Champion. The previous champion, Low Ki, has been injured, forcing him to vacate. Strong should face Low Ki for the title, and thus be given goodbye to the final round. Tournament (nicknamed Ã,áDia de los Dangerous!) End to see Strong Cultivation Man Tornado and Karl Anderson in a three-way, strong match is lost. On May 17 and 18, he entered the second annual DDT4 with Evans. They went on to defeat the Scorpio Sky and Ronin and Los Luchas (Phoenix Star and Zokre) teams on their way to the final, where they beat World Tag Team Champions Kevin Steen and El Generico to become champions and tournament winners. On July 6th at the Life During Wartime , The Age of the Fall (Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs) defeated the Generico (replaces Evans) and Strong team to win the title. The following month, Strong defeats Tyler Black in a single action. He entered his third Battle of Los Angeles and was eliminated in the first round by the eventual winner, Low Ki.
On DDT4 2009 on May 22, Strong teamed up with Bryan Danielson to reach the final round for three years in a row. They defeated The Dynasty (Scott Lost and Joey Ryan) and Motor City Machine Guns (Shelley and Chris Sabin) before losing to World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson). Strongly received the second PWG World Championship title which was shot on 28 August 2009, challenged Chris Hero, but could not win. That year, he also returned to the final round of the Battle of Los Angeles, losing potential victories and an empty World Championship to Kenny Omega.
On January 30, 2010, Strong wrestled Hero and Rob Van Dam in a three-way match at PWG's WrestleReunion 4 showcase. On April 10, he faced Richards for the World Championships, but lost. On May 9, for the first time, Strong was unable to reach the DDT4 final, losing in the opening round. On Seven on July 30, Strong was beaten by Danielson in a single game. He entered the Battle of Los Angeles 2010 and beat Paul London in the opening round before losing to Claudio Castagnoli the following day. In the All Star Weekend 8 - Night Two on May 28, 2011, Strong and former Aries partner lost the World Tag Team Championship championship against The Young Bucks. Strong enter the Battle of Los Angeles 2011 and eliminated by Eddie Edwards in the opening round. On December 10, Strong defeated Red Red who made his debut.
On April 21, 2012, Strong teamed up with Pami Sami Callihan's debutant in DDT4, but again lost before reaching the semi-finals. He entered the seventh consecutive Battle of Los Angeles in September, defeating Drake Younger in the opening round and losing to Ricochet in the quarterfinals. On Failure to Communicate on October 27, Strong defeated Rich Swann in Swann's debut match. On Mystery Vortex, which took place on December 1st, Strong teamed up with Eddie Edwards and won back-to-back tag teams; the first duo beat The Young Bucks in the opening game, then defeated World Tag Team Super Smash Brothers Champions (Player Uno and Stupefied) in a non-title fight.
At the Eleventh PWG anniversary event, Strong defeated Adam Cole to become the number 1 contender for the PWG World Title held by Kyle O'Reilly. After congratulating O'Reily for a successful title defense over Chris Hero, he then strikes O'Reilly by reversing the heels once more. He then justified his turn by claiming he was "Bored to be the one who has a great match." and he is tired of being "The Gatekeeper of PWG." In August, Strong will then enter the Battle of Los Angeles 2014, defeat Biff Busick in the first half, and will make it to the finals though through cheating; get a disqualification win over A.J. Style and get more bye from PWG World Champion Kyle O'Reilly in the semi-final after attacking him before the game. The three-way final match, which also included Johnny Gargano, was won by Ricochet. In Untitled II, Robust O'Reilly challenged for the title. On the following show of Black Cole Sun, Strong beat O'Reilly in the Guerrilla Warfare game to win the PWG World Championship for the first time after putting O'Reilly into the match after O'Reilly beat BOLA's Ricochet in nearly 30 minutes.. He will make his first successful defense in From Out of Nowhere against Trevor Lee, the second at Do not Sweat the Technique against Zack Saber Jr. in a critically acclaimed match, and a third in a Triple Threat match against Brian Cage and Chris Hero in DDT4. On the Mystery of Vortex III, Strong manages to defend his title against "Speedball" Mike Bailey in an open challenge and then helps The Young Bucks capture the Tag Team World Championship PWG and afterwards form a new version of the stable Mount Rushmore with them and Super back Dragon. On December 11, Adam Cole joined the stable. On March 5, 2016, Strong lost the PWG World Championship to Zack Saber Jr. He would then cashed a re-match clause against Saber Jr. on 29 July 2016, and lost. He followed the match with a farewell speech to signify his departure from PWG after 11 years with promotion.
WWE
NXT (2016-current)
In 2005, Strong made a one-off appearance at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on the January 13 SmackDown episode. In that episode, Strong was defeated by Kurt Angle in "3 Hometown Hero Heroes 3-Side Challenge" This angle. Strong made his NXT debut on the October 19th episode of NXT as Austin Aries partner in the second Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament, defeating Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic. On October 25, 2016, WWE officially announced Strong as part of a new recruiting group that joined the WWE Performance Center. On December 14th episode of NXT , Strong defeated Elias Samson, in doing so made him enter a fatal four-way game to determine the new number one competitor for the NXT Championship as well as establish himself as a fan favorite. Strongly competed in a fatal-four way on the December 21 edition NXT , but to no avail. Strong defeat Andrade "Cien" Almas on TakeOver NXT: San Antonio in its first TakeOver appearance.
Strong then began a rivalry with the SAnitY faction after coming to the aid of Tye Dillinger and No Way Jose, who also fought against the group. At NXT TakeOver: Orlando, Strong teamed up with Dillinger, Ruby Riot, and Kassius Ohno (replacing No Way Jose who had been attacked earlier in the night) to confront SAnitY in an 8-person mixed-team mix match in a losing attempt. On May 20, at TakeOver NXT: Chicago, Strong defeats Eric Young, giving Young his first loss loss on NXT.
On July 5th episode NXT , Strong challenged Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship, but lost the match. After Drew McIntyre won the NXT Championship from Roode on TakeOver NXT: Brooklyn III, Strong defeated Roode on the August 30th episode NXT . The highly unsuccessful McIntyre for the NXT Championship on the October 5th episode NXT . Strong pinned by Almas on October 25th episode NXT after an interruption from Zelina Vega.
Strong enter the program with The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O'Reilly). For weeks, the trio tried to recruit Strong to join the group in an effort to overtake NXT. During the match between SAnitY and The Authors of Pain on November 1st episode NXT , The Undisputed Era annoys and causes the game to end in a non-existent contest. Strong enter the fray and pull out the armband Era Undeniable, who seems to join the group. However, Strong attacked all three, and cleared the ring with The Authors of Pain. General Manager William Regal appears on the street, and announces WarGames game for TakeOver NXT: WarGames (originally known as TakeOver: Houston). Strong will team up with The Authors of Pain against The Undisputed Era and SAnitY. At the event, Strong (who wore clothes similar to his teammates) and The Authors of Pain did not succeed in victory. On December 20th episode NXT , Strong was defeated by Lars Sullivan in the first round of the NXT Championship # 1 Player Tournament.
On 30 January 2018 episodes of 205 Live , the new General Manager 205 Live Drake Maverick announces the 2018 WWE Cruiseweight Championship Tournament. Strong is then announced as a participant in the tournament, where he will defeat Hideo Itami in the first half and Kalisto in the quarter-finals on February 6 and February 27 episode <205 Live before being defeated by Cedric Alexander in the semi-finals on March 13th episode 205 Live .
At NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, during a three-game threat to NXT Tag Team Championship and Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy, Strong lit his partner Pete Dunne and join the Undeniable Era, twisting heels in the process for the first time in his WWE career. The following morning at WrestleMania Axxess, Strong teamed up with Kyle O'Reilly to defend the NXT Tag Team Championship, making him one of the champions through the Freebird Rules.
At Greatest Royal Rumble, Strong competes in the namesake game, goes to # 34 and gets rid of Rhyno before being eliminated by Baron Corbin.
Personal life
^ Fish and O'Reilly originally won the title as a duo, but Strong also became recognized as a champion under the Freebird Rule after Fish suffered an injury.
