Hapsburg is an absinthe brand containing the wormwood herb ( Artemisia absinthium ). Hapsburg Absinthe produces five different types of Absinthe: the Hapsburg Classic which is 72.5%, X.C. has an alcohol content of 89.9%, Flavored Absinthe is ideally made for shooters at 33%, A Rich Irish Cream Absinthe, and La Magnifique, handmade Verte Absinthe. Hapsburg Absinthe was founded in 1999. The popularity of Absinthe really began to happen in the 1990s when the Czech Republic was opened for tourism. The Green Fairy is still a popular drink in the Czech Republic and many travelers will get their first experience with the drink while visiting the country. By the mid-1990s, absinthe had become a regular fixture in many bars in England.
