Sub-bass sound is a low-pitch pitch with a depth of less than 60 Hz and extends downward to include the lowest frequency that humans can hear, which is assumed to be around 20 Hz. In this range, human hearing is not very sensitive, so the sound in this range tends to be felt more than heard. Sound amplifier systems and PA systems often use one or more subwoofer loudspeakers devoted to amplifying sound in the sub-bass range. The sound below the sub-bass is called infrasound.

Hearing and use
20 Hz is considered the normal low-frequency limit of human hearing. When pure sine waves are reproduced in ideal conditions and at very high decibels, the human listener will be able to identify a tone as low as 12 Hz. Audio tracks known as bass tests use sub-bass frequencies used to test or demonstrate audio equipment capabilities. The high-end subwoofers can accurately produce sounds of about 18 Hz Ã, à ± 2Ã, dB.
Sub-bass energy is popular in dance music, where low frequency involves the energy of kick drum (bass drum), bass guitar and electronic synthesizer and drum machine. Certain genres such as House music, drums and bass and dubstep often feature basslines which mainly consist of sub-bass frequencies. Many experimental music uses sub-bass, especially drone music, where most of the sound is often in the sub-bass range. Often, hip-hop and rap songs feature a common sub-bass. The pedal keyboard range of the pipe organ also often extends to the sub-bass range; note down stop 16 'normally tuned to 32 Hz, stop 32' at 16 Hz.
Chris Pitman added a sub-bass to all songs on the Guns N 'Roses album Chinese Democracy .
